Everything has gone according to plan today, except we are
not supposed to be here as another caravan park we picked out from the net is
only open on weekends. Not a problem as there appear to be no shortage of
camper sites.
This morning we woke to sunny skies in Joburg and had a
great breakfast at the B&B. Attached is a shot of our deck area outside our
room. The owner then drove us to the camper rental place where we picked up our
accommodation for the next month. Attached are a couple of shots of the unit in
the caravan park.
We shopped for provisions at the local ‘Pick and Pay‘
supermarket. Prices are comparable to home with a few things cheaper (e.g.
cheese) and a few more expensive (e.g. Coke). We are now stocked up for a few
days.
We ended up on the Toll highway for part of today’s travel
but cannot figure it out. One section cost 85 rand but then the next was 400
and it was only for a few minutes. No matter – it made for easier travel.
We are still both having trouble realizing we are really
here in South Africa! Tomorrow we will begin to head toward Kruger Park.
